Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a hand drawing and a digital pencil sketch?

My hand drawings are authentically sketched by myself with professional sketching pencils over many hours to recreate your favourite photos with hyper realism. My digital pencil sketches aim to replicate the hand drawn aesthetic I taught myself over the years, to the point where they almost look indistinguishable from one another. I create them using a computer and graphics tablet, and print them on expensive, textured sketching paper to replicate the traditional hand drawn look and feel, but they cost a fraction of the price (especially at much larger sizes). They can also be in colour or blown onto various canvas sizes.

What is the estimated turnaround time from placing an order to receiving my artwork?

The exact time it takes for you to receive your artwork depends on the type of portrait and the amount of work required. On average, it takes between 2-3 weeks for a custom hand drawing to be planned, sketched and delivered to you, whereas a digital pencil sketch can be in your hands within 1 week. Depending on my schedule, I can often deliver your art even faster, you are more than welcome to enquire with an extremely tight deadline, I will do bend over backwards to get it to you in time.

How long does shipping take within the UK?

Shipping within the UK typically takes 2-3 business days as I send via First Class Signed For Royal Mail. Delivery times may vary depending on the postal service and any unforeseen circumstances, but I will keep you updated every step of the way.

How long does shipping take to the US?

Shipping artwork to the US requires additional time due to international shipping processes. Shipping to the US typically takes 7-10 business days. Customs procedures and other factors (like ordering around holiday seasons) beyond my control could potentially cause delays, but it does seem rare.

How will my portrait be sent?

I package every portrait with care to ensure it is safe from damage and potential bad weather. Portraits up to A4 in size are placed inside a polythene sleeve and sent inside a reinforced cardboard envelope- sandwiched between even more cardboard to stop it from bending in the post. Portraits sized A3 and above are placed inside a polythene sleeve and rolled into a reinforced cardboard tube, which is sealed with tape all around to keep out the damp. Canvases are protected with a wealth of cardboard and bubble wrap to prevent damage.

Can I track my shipment?

Yes, you can track your shipment. Once your artwork is shipped, I will provide you with a Royal Mail tracking number link. You can use this to monitor the progress of your delivery in real time.
